Regarding Theaters

  • Can I join the theater queue midway?

    We apologize for the inconvenience, but joining the theater queue midway is not allowed. Please line up together with everyone else.
  • About theater accessibility

    You can enter the theater while remaining in your wheelchair. Please inform the theater staff.
    We also provide folding chairs free of charge for those who wish.

Regarding "Nyamage"

  • Where can I meet "Nyamage"?

    Due to its capricious nature, "Nyamage" roams the streets of Edo randomly.
    If you really want to meet it, please ask a nearby Edo resident in the town.

Regarding Edo Work Experience

  • What age group can participate?

    Ninja: No age restriction, Child Samurai: 5 to 12 years old, Edo Police: No age restriction
  • How do I register for the experience?

    Registrations are done at the following locations: Ninja Experience - Near the Ninja Karakuri Mansion, Child Samurai - Samurai Training Institute, Edo Police - Kuchi-ireya.

    Note: During consecutive holidays and summer vacation periods, there may be changes in the reservation method. For details, please refer to the " Edo Work Experience" section on the "Schedule" page.

  • Regarding capacity information

    Ninja: Up to 120 participants on a first-come, first-served basis; Children Samurai: Up to 72 participants; Edo Police: Acceptance available throughout the designated time.

    Note: During consecutive holidays and summer vacation periods, there may be changes. For details, please refer to the " Edo Work Experience" section on the "Schedule" page.

  • Participation in occupation experience after costume transformation

    We apologize for any inconvenience, but participation in children’s Ninja Samurai experiences in regular costumes is not allowed. However, you can participate in the children’s Ninja and Samurai experiences wearing the specifically provided Ninja costumes.
  • In case of rain

    Even in rainy weather, the program will be partially modified, and the experience will take place indoors. Please rest assured.
  • Is there an additional fee for participation?

    Participation is free of charge.

Regarding Other Experiences

  • Does the experience menu change depend on the season?

    Regarding the experience menu, we consider seasonal factors for certain activities.
    Once your visit date is set, please check and confirm the details of the experiences before your arrival.

Regarding Admission Tickets

  • Can I re-enter the Nikko Edomura with the admission ticket?

    Re-entry is possible on the same day. Please show your admission ticket to the checkpoint officer when re-entering.
  • Regarding convenience store vouchers

    Please exchange the vouchers for admission tickets at the group window on the day of your visit.
    For refunds, cancellations, and other matters, please inquire with the respective issuing authority.
  • Regarding pre-sale tickets and date-specific tickets

    We do not handle pre-sale tickets or date-specific tickets on-site. Only same-day tickets are available for purchase.
  • Various Discounts (for ages 65 and above, disability discounts, afternoon tickets, etc.)

  • Ticket Sales Hours for Admission Tickets

    Tickets are sold at the ticket office until one hour before closing.
  • What can I do with the admission ticket?

    You can enter all theaters and experience halls.
    However, it cannot be used at restaurants, souvenir shops, amusement facilities, and some experiences.
  • Regarding unused old issue tickets

    You can use the admission ticket to receive a discount on the fee. It cannot be combined with other discounts, and please note that it cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • Special Discounts from Various Mutual Aid Societies

    Please fill out the required forms and settle the payment in cash at the group window on the day of your visit.

Regarding Parking

  • Can a camper van be parked?

    Parking for camper vans is available. The fee is 1,300 yen. (Please note that overnight stays in the vehicle are not allowed.)

Regarding Transformation Place

  • From what age can one start transforming?

    The suitability of costumes for dressing up depends on the height rather than the age.
    For more details, please refer to the "Price List for Transformation Place" under the "Transform" page.
  • Can I reserve costumes?

    We regret to inform that we cannot accept reservations for any costumes other than the "Oiran" outfit. Costumes are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the visit.
  • Regarding reservation for "Oiran" costumes

    Please consult us through email from the "Contact Us" page.
  • How long does it take to dress up?

    It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to dress up in a kimono, and about 10 minutes for hair styling.
    Please note that additional waiting time may occur, and we appreciate your understanding in advance.
  • What sizes are available?

    For more details, please refer to the "Price List for Kimono Rental" under the "Kimono Rental"page.

    *We regret to inform that depending on the individual's body shape, there may be some costumes that cannot be worn on the day. Please acknowledge this in advance.

  • What types of hairstyles are available?

    We provide specific hairstyles that complement the kimono.
    This is an additional service for women, where the hair is usually tied high up and adorned with dedicated ornaments.
  • Do I have to dress up myself?

    You will be fitted by our professional staff. Please note that only those dressing up can enter the changing room.

Lost Items

  • I left something behind, what should I do?

    If it's the same day, we keep the lost items at "Echigoya" in the village.
    For other days, please provide detailed information via the "Contact Us" page.

Regarding Wheelchairs and Strollers

  • Renting a wheelchair

    We provide wheelchair rentals at the office in front of the entrance gate.
    A deposit of 1,000 yen is required, and the full amount will be refunded upon return.
  • Renting a stroller

    We also provide stroller rentals at the office in front of the entrance gate. The rental fee is 200 yen per day.
  • Regarding barrier-free facilities (Entry to theaters and wheelchair accessible restrooms)

    You can enter the theaters in a wheelchair. Please inform the theater staff for assistance.
    We can also provide folding chairs if needed.
    Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available at three locations within the village. Please refer to the village map for the exact location.
  • Can I move around the village in a wheelchair?

    Yes, it is possible. Please use the paved paths and detours.
    If you need assistance, please feel free to ask any of our nearby staff for help.

    *However, please note that some areas, such as experience areas that require physical activity, may not be accessible in a wheelchair. We appreciate your understanding.

Regarding Restaurants

  • Regarding allergies

    For some menu items, we provide ingredient lists.
  • Regarding bringing your own food

    We apologize, but bringing outside food is not allowed.

    However, if you have dietary restrictions due to food allergies or other reasons, you are allowed to bring special meals, such as bento, to the restaurant.
    If you wish to do so, please inform the Edo residents (staff) at the restaurant. In such cases, we kindly request that your companions order from the restaurant's menu.

Regarding Pet Entry

  • Can I bring my pet inside?

    Yes, pets are allowed, but they must be kept in a cage, carrier, or stroller and not be allowed to walk freely within the facility.
  • Are pet supplies available for rental?

    We do not provide rental services for pet supplies such as cages, carriers, or strollers.
    We kindly ask you to bring your own pet supplies.
  • Regarding pet toilets

    Due to facility restrictions, we do not have pet toilets available on-site.
    Please take your pet's waste with you when leaving.
  • Are there any restrictions when bringing pets?

    Pets are not permitted to enter dining areas. In the theater, if your pet barks and disrupts the performance, or inconveniences other customers, you may be asked to leave. Please understand and cooperate.
  • Which theaters allow pets inside?

    Pets are allowed in all theaters. However, please refrain from letting your pet out of its cage, carrier, or stroller during the performance.

  • Can I put my pet (in a cage) on a rented wheelchair or stroller?

    Wheelchairs and strollers are intended for use by human guests only. Please refrain from placing your pet in them, as some customers may have allergies.
  • Can I let my pet's face peek out from the cage or carrier?

    As long as it doesn't inconvenience other customers, it should be fine.
    However, in the event of an accident, such as your pet biting another customer, we cannot take responsibility.
  • Is there an admission fee for pets?

    No, there is no admission fee for pets. (Some special events may be an exception)
  • Do I need to provide a vaccination certificate for my pet?

    No, it is not required.

Regarding Coin Lockers

  • Please tell me the sizes and fees for the lockers.

    • Large (H78cm×W36cm×D41.5cm): 400 yen
    • Medium (H51cm×W16cm×D35cm): 300 yen
    • Small (H30cm × W36cm × D35cm): 200 yen

Regarding ATM

  • Is there an ATM available?

    Unfortunately, there are no ATMs within the village.
    There are Seven-Eleven and Lawson convenience stores located about a 5-minute drive away.
  • Can I use credit cards?

    You can use JCB, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover Card, UnionPay, and their affiliated credit cards.
    (Please note that some stores within the village may not accept certain credit cards. Kindly be aware of this.)

Regarding Bad Weather Conditions

  • Are there any events, theatre performances, or experiences that would be cancelled in bad weather?

    The performance at the Theater ⑤Minami-machi Magistrates Office may be cancelled in case of rain.
    The Experience at ⑦Ninja Karakuri Mechanical Maze might have entry restrictions during heavy snow.
    Please be aware of these possibilities in advance.
  • Do you provide umbrella rentals?

    We do not provide umbrella rentals. Umbrellas can be purchased at the souvenir shop within the village.
  • Can I still rent kimono and dress up if it is raining?

    Yes, you can. However, rain gear is necessary. We also have an option for traditional umbrella rental for 500 yen/day at the transformation place.

Regarding Babies

  • Is there a nursing room?

    There is a nursing room located in the central part of the village. Please refer to the village map for the exact location.
  • Are men allowed in the nursing room?

    Unfortunately, we kindly request men to refrain from entering the nursing room.
  • Are there changing tables for babies?

    Yes, there are. Please refer tothe village map for the exact location.
  • Do you provide stroller rentals?

    We also provide stroller rentals at the office in front of the entrance gate.
    The rental fee is 200 yen per day.
  • Where can I get hot water for powdered milk?

    Hot water can be prepared at Echigo-ya or at the office near the entrance gate. Please feel free to ask. Please refer to the village map for the exact location.

Regarding Cosplay

  • Can I enter in cosplay?

    Yes, you can enter in cosplay using either of the following methods:
    ①Currently, there is a company that regularly holds cosplay events in Edo Village. Please use their event dates for entry.

    Please note that only costumes that adhere to the historical accuracy of the Edo period are allowed. If you are unsure, please inquire with the event company.
    (Costumes that violate public order and morals are not allowed.)
    ②If it is not a cosplay event date as mentioned above, you can enter in cosplay by submitting a pledge form at the entrance office.

    *Please print and fill out the pledge form in advance from this link.
    If you plan to cosplay, make sure the costume adheres to the historical accuracy of the Edo period. If you are uncertain, please inquire with us. (Costumes that violate public order and morals are not allowed.)
  • Is there a changing room?

    During the cosplay event dates mentioned above, there is an event space near the entrance that you can use as a changing room.
    However, on non-event days, there are no changing rooms or places for changing within the facility. Please be aware of this.

Regarding Coin Lockers

There are two coin lockers near the entrance gate.

Usage Fees:

  • Large: 400 yen (H78cm×W36cm×D41.5cm)
  • Medium: 300 yen (H51cm×W16cm×D35cm)
  • Small: 200 yen (H30cm×W36cm×D35cm)
  • Lockers are available for same-day use only.
    If not retrieved on the same day, we may unlock the locker.
  • There is no currency exchange machine available. If you need to exchange currency, please inquire with the staff at the ticket office.

First Aid Room and AED

There is one first aid room next to the ticket office and another one within the village, each equipped with an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
If you wish to use the first aid room within the village, please inform the staff at "Echigo-ya." Please note that there are no nurses on duty, and we appreciate your understanding.

Regarding Baby Strollers

We provide rental baby strollers at the office next to the ticket office.
The rental fee is 200 yen per stroller per day.

Type of Stroller:

It is a type A baby stroller with a reclining feature for the backrest.
Age Limit: Up to 4 years old (48 months); Weight Limit: Up to 18kg

Regarding Restrooms

Among the restrooms in the village, three locations are equipped with accessible toilets.
Some restrooms also feature changing tables for babies.

Regarding Babies

  • There are nursing and diaper changing facilities available within the village.
  • If you don't have disposable diapers, they are available at "Echigo-ya."
  • If you need warm water, please request it at "Shinano-ya."

Lost Items

For lost items, please inquire at the office next to the ticket office or at "Echigo-ya" within the village.
For inquiries after your visit, please call 0288-77-1777 or contact us through our page.

Regarding Smoking Areas

There is one designated smoking area at the entrance gate and another within the village.
Please note that in Edo Wonderland, smoking is prohibited except in designated smoking areas. We appreciate your cooperation.

Regarding Electric Vehicle Charging Spots

There are two regular charging spots for electric vehicles available within the Edo Wonderland-owned parking lot. The charging hours align with the facility's opening hours and operating days.

Barrier-Free Facilities

For Persons with Disabilities

  • If you present a disability identification card to our staff, both the person with the disability and one accompanying person can purchase an admission ticket at the entrance ticket machine for a special rate. Please check the details here.
  • We provide priority parking spaces for individuals with physical disabilities or those experiencing temporary reductions in physical function. Please inform our parking lot attendants for assistance.

Regarding Wheelchair Rental

Wheelchairs are available for free at the office next to the ticket office.
A refundable deposit of ¥1,000 is required at the time of rental.
(The full amount will be refunded upon return.)

Entry to Theaters for Wheelchair Users

  • It is possible to enter the theaters in a wheelchair, but please be aware that the number of wheelchairs allowed inside may vary depending on the day's circumstances and each theater. For more information, please inquire with the staff at the theater entrance.
    Additionally, folding chairs are available at Wakamatsu-ya and Mizugei-za. If you wish to use them, please inform the theater's Edo residents.
  • Please note that we may not be able to accommodate wheelchairs after the performance has started.

Regarding Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets for those using wheelchairs or needing spacious facilities are available at three locations within the village. Please refer to the village map for the exact location.

  • We provide ingredient lists for our menus. Please check them here.
    However, they may be subject to revision, so be sure to check the latest information before visiting the village.
  • If you have dietary restrictions due to food allergies or other reasons, you are allowed to bring special meals, such as bento, to the restaurants. If you wish to do so, please inform the Edo residents (staff) at the restaurant.
    In such cases, we kindly request that your companions order from the restaurant's menu.

Regarding Assistance Dogs (Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs, and Service Dogs)

According to the Act on Assistance Dogs for Physically Disabled Persons, assistance dogs such as guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs are allowed to accompany their owners throughout the village. Please make sure the assistance dog is wearing the specified identification and bring the certification (user certificate) as required by Japanese law.

  • All facilities in the village are accessible with assistance dogs.
  • If the person with the assistance dog enters the facility and the dog cannot enter for any reason, a companion must wait outside with the assistance dog.
    Please note that staff cannot take care of the assistance dog during this time.
